No, because the map saved in the memory of Easymetros includes the metro, RER and tramway stations in the whole "Ile-de-France" region.
Therefore, Easymetros enables you to manage easily all your journeys along the public transit sytem in Paris and its suburbs.
The Easymetros keyboard is similar to a cell-phone keyboard: to enter the names of the stations, just use it the same way you type an SMS.
For example, to type the letter "C", press the "ABC" key 3 times.
Some abbreviations have been programmed in the device to facilite its use: "st" instead of "saint", "pte" instead of "porte", "pt" instead of "pont" etc.
When Easymetros is on use, you can read and listen again your journey by pressing the «
» key. You can also use this key to make a break.
Be aware that your journey will not be saved in the device memory when you switch it off.
Press the Volume «
» « + » or « - » to adjust the volume of the voice.
Even if the voice is off (lowest volume level), you can still read the information on the screen.
You can also use headphones by plugging it on the right side of the device.
Easymetros is not a GPS. Besides, you can notice that its price is much lower.Indeed, to be guided in the metro corridors in the same way a GPS does, other much more complex and expensive technologies would be required (for example a satellite liaison).
Easymetros has been designed to fulfil the following goals:
The current Easymetros version doesn’t include wireless technologies giving the opportunity to get updated information in real time. Therefore, you can not know with Easymetros if some stations are closed etc.
Nevertheless, depending on the technological breakthroughs, it may be possible in the future to add these wireless technologies in the device at a reasonable price.
New stations are added when a new production line is launched. To get those updates, you have to buy a new Easymetros device.
At the first use, take the small plastic strap out of the batteries location in the back of the device. The role of this small plastic strap is to avoid that the batteries run down before the first use of Easymetros.
Moreover, if you can not start Easymetros, press the small "reset" button located above the batteries on the back of the device. This key reboots Easymetros.
Easymetros works with 3 AAA LR3 batteries, which enable you to use the device during several months.
Easymetros is a very small and light device you can carry with you in your bag or your pocket.
Its dimensions are: 108x72x20 mm (H x L x P), weight 108g.
